This one-of-a-kind jacket is based on the traditional French worker's jacket known as "bleu de travail". The fabric is repurposed from a lighter weight vintage or antique French linen bed sheet, and a separate piece of linen purchased in the markets of Provence.
The wearer’s right pocket features the original hand-stitched monogram “AT” in red. The collar has a hand stitched cross (perhaps this fabric was originally used in a hospital setting?) that has faded beautifully as a result of laundering. The two wearer’s left pockets feature a white tone on tone stripe.
The hem of the jacket features the original hand stitched hem of the bed sheet.
There a few very small marks on the wearer’s back right of the jacket.
This jacket is a ratatouille designs size small. It typically would fit someone who is a size small or medium. Please review the measurements provided (see last two photos for this jacket) to ensure that this would be right size for you.
Fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to date fabrics and, when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflection of a history of use and/or workmanship.
