This one-of-a-kind oversized jacket has a wonderful cut and an interesting silhouette. It is the larger of my two sizes in this style. The fabric is a medium weight crisp repurposed vintage or antique French linen bed sheet purchased in the markets of Provence.
Exquisite handwork is featured at the centre front and hem of the jacket, using the hand-stitching across the top and at the corner of the bed sheet
The initials RL are beautifully stitched and placed.
The front and back of this jacket are the same length. There are no pockets on this jacket
The fabric has been pre-washed and will not shrink if washed in cold water and hung to dry. When ironing this jacket do it with the monogram face down on a terry cloth towel. This will maintain the depth/fullness of the embroidery.
The generous boxy silhouette will fit a range of sizes. Please review the measurements provided (see last two photos for this jacket) to ensure that this would be the right size for you.
All fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to accurately date fabric, and when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflection of history of use and/or workmanship.
