This one-of-a-kind oversized jacket has a wonderful cut and an interesting silhouette. The fabric is a medium to heavy weight crisp white repurposed vintage or antique French linen bed sheet purchased in the markets of Provence.
The exquisite hand embroidered original monogram NS is on the wearer’s front right. The hem of the jacket has the original hand work from the top of the sheet.
The jacket has side vents, bracelet length sleeves and no pockets.
The fabric has been pre-washed and will not shrink if washed in cold water and hung to dry. When ironing this jacket do it with the monogram face down on a terry cloth towel. The is will protect the depth/fullness of the embroidery.
This generous boxy silhouette of the jacket will fit a range of sizes. Please review the measurements provided (see last two photos for this jacket) to ensure that this would be the right size for you.
Fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to accurately date fabrics and, when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflections of history of use and/or workmanship.
