This one-of-a-kind jacket has a wonderful cut and an interesting silhouette. The black fabric is heavier weight new European linen. The inside collar, centre front of the jacket, cuffs and the front patch pocket all have a contrasting facing of a linen and cotton vintage French tea towel purchased in the markets of Provence.
The facings feature the original red, cross stitched initials JD. The red stripes on the tea towel are featured on the inside facing of the neck, right centre front, one sleeve and the pocket.
The bracelet length sleeves and can be worn with the cuff folded up to reveal the contrasting facing. This jacket has one pocket.
The fabric has been pre-washed and will not shrink if washed on cold and hung to dry.
The generous boxy silhouette of the jacket will fit a range of sizes. Please review the measurements provide in last two photos to ensure that this would be the right size for you.
Fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to date fabrics and, when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflection of a history of use and/or workmanship.
When I identify fabric content as linen or hemp or a blend, I am doing this based on considerable experience and not scientific tests.
