This one-of-a-kind oversized jacket has wonderful cut and an interesting silhouette. The black fabric is heavier weight new European linen. The inside collar, centre front of the jacket, and cuffs all have a contrasting facing of blue and white cotton, vintage repurposed French household fabric purchased in the markets of Provence.
The sleeves are bracelet length and can be worn with the cuff folded up to reveal the contrasting facing. This jacket does not have a pocket.
The collar and front facing fabric is beautifully worn. We have applied visible mending to repair the fabric. The previous owner of the cotton also has done a machine mend on the back inside collar.
The fabric has been pre-washed and will not shrink if washed in cold water and hung to dry.
The generous boxy silhouette of the jacket will fit a range of sizes. Please review the measurements provided (see last two photos for this jacket) to ensure that this would be the right size for you.
Fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to date fabrics and, when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflection of a history of use and/or workmanship.
