This one-of-a-kind jacket is based on the traditional French worker's jacket known as "bleu de travail". The fabric is repurposed from a beautifully soft and worn vintage or antique French hemp bed sheet purchased in the markets of Provence.
The inside pocket tops, and jacket bodice bottom hems use the original hand stitched hems from the bed sheet.
There are two newly applied (by ratatouille designs) visible mends. One is on a sleeve and the other is on the back of the jacket.
This jacket is a ratatouille designs size medium. It typically would fit someone who is a size small to medium. Please review the measurements for the actual jacket provided (see last two photos for this jacket) to ensure that this would be the right size for you. Remember to leave a bit of room for you to move in the jacket.
Fabrics that are not new linen are listed as vintage or antique as it is difficult to date fabrics and, when sourcing fabric, my focus is on its tactile nature and its reflection of a history of use and/or workmanship.
When I identify fabric content as linen or hemp or a blend I am doing this based on considerable experience and not scientific tests.
